In fiscal year 2023, the company invested 17.5 crores in its corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives, securing the 16th position on The CSR Journal’s list for top CSR companies in India. The company's commitment to societal and environmental impact is manifested through a range of programs focusing on livelihoods, water, energy, and community amenities.

Dalmia Bharat's CSR strategy is shaped by thorough external need assessments and internal brainstorming, targeting crucial challenges in the surrounding communities.


Skill Development and Employment


The Dalmia Institute of Knowledge and Skill (DIKSHa) exemplifies the company's dedication to empowering rural youth. Offering short-term courses developed in collaboration with industry leaders like Schneider Electric, Bosch, and Akzo Nobel, DIKSHa has successfully trained over 1,084 young individuals, enhancing their job and self-employment prospects.


Livelihood Enhancement


The company’s efforts in promoting income-generating activities extend to setting up skill training centers and supporting farm-sector training, self-help groups (SHGs), and farmer producer organizations. These initiatives have significantly boosted the livelihoods of 25,426 individuals, helping them earn an additional income of between 37,000 and 100,000 annually.


Environmental Sustainability


The Global Parli project, in collaboration with Global Vikas Trust, showcases Dalmia Bharat's commitment to environmental sustainability. The project involved planting 800,000 G9 variety banana trees across 453 acres, benefitting 541 farmers and establishing a farmer producer company for better market linkage.


Water Management and Conservation


Dalmia Bharat has implemented extensive water management and conservation projects, such as the Chirawa Water Conservation Project which has harvested 215.23 lakh KL of rainwater, benefiting about 9,000 villagers. Overall, the company's water initiatives have added a water conservation potential of 322.75 lakh KL annually.


Health, Education, and Infrastructure


Health and Sanitation


The company organizes health camps and supports healthcare infrastructure improvements, benefiting over 40,000 villagers and addressing critical health and sanitation needs.


Educational Support


The Dalmia Happy School Project focuses on improving educational infrastructure and providing digital literacy, which has benefitted thousands of schoolchildren. Additionally, Dalmia Bharat contributes to the Blue Orb project, creating content for books and articles aimed at promoting mindfulness.


Infrastructure Development


Investments in rural infrastructure include building community centers, installing RO plants, enhancing street lighting, and promoting sports, which have directly impacted thousands of villagers.


Future Plans for 2024-2025


Looking ahead, Dalmia Bharat aims to deepen its impact with focused initiatives that address emerging community needs and global sustainability goals.


Expanding Training and Employment Programs


The company plans to expand DIKSHa, aiming to train and employ a larger number of youths, focusing especially on marginalized communities.

Future projects will likely focus on expanding sustainable agricultural practices and increasing the scale of current environmental conservation efforts.
